I deleted the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 圆4 & x86 from Control Panel, and used Repair on the all the 2012, 20 ones. I believe that is how/when I fixed my D3 pause/freeze issue.

After trying to google a fix for that and trying about 6 things, I found none worked so I decided to reinstall my Visual Runtime Libraries. Yesterday I bought PUBG and when I ran it first time I got some error "cannot find msvcp140.dll". I was also experiencing similar freezes/pauses in Rocket League, which I thought was unrelated, but once I fixed the issue both Diablo 3 and Rocket League ran without incident for hours. I had a look around forums and none of the Blizzard suggestions helped, such as running 32-bit client or other stuff in these kinds of threads on the D3 forums.

The 'freeze' would let the sound play in a loop of the last. Occasionally D3 would pause/freeze for a few seconds, either when I load into a new game, or at random times during my session.
